Streamlined Backshop is owned and operated by Bryan Vianco.
My stepfather bought me the classic Tyco Santa Fe U36B set with the crappy pancake motor in the truck and a simple loop of track way back in 1978. I was hooked... still am...
That simple set expanded with weekly trips to the A&P for track and rolling stock. Over the next decade, we built and rebuilt at least six permanent layouts to operate our B&M (Bryan & Mark) Railroad. I spent thousands of hours building kits, improving operation and repairing bad orders through high school.
I began repairing trains "for profit" in college around 1990 to make some extra beer money with my buddy Greg Stout. He was focused on repairing Lionel Trains but had a guy who needed a guy to repair everything else. I was the guy...
Family, life and career took center stage for the next decade or so. I eventually found a way to enjoy the hobby again by joining CINTRAK (Central Indiana N-TRAK) and building a couple of N-TRAK modules for my son and I to enjoy. The club was dedicated to advancing the hobby and was an early adopter of DCC.
DCC was still pretty new, to me at least, but I recognized the potential it had to revolutionize the hobby immediately. I started updating my own fleet to improve operations and leverage the opportunities to add realistic sound and lights not possible with DC control. Somewhere along the route I had to find a way to earn some extra scratch so I started doing decoder installs for profit and the rest is history...
Streamlined Backshop Services was founded in 2010 as a legal business entity.
I specialize in N, HO and O Scale decoder installations. I will gladly quote installations and repairs in any scale including Z, 2mm, Nn3, TT, 4mm, OO, HOm, HOn3, S, O, or G.
I have had a "loose" partnership with Steven Fields, owner of Streamlined Backshop Installations, since 2016. We maintain a "symbiotic relationship" of our own legal entities for each others mutual benefit and to keep matters of business and taxes simple.
Here are some additional pages published for my own enjoyment...
