Streamlined Backshop Services Digital Command Control (DCC) Decoder Installation Services

• Engine testing and inspection
• Locomotive disassembly *
• MINOR frame modifications as required for proper Decoder fit
• Testing and isolation of motor from frame as required **
• Decoder installation
• Kapton Tape, Shrink Tube, and/or Electrical Tape as required to protect Decoder and connections
• Double-sided tape and/or other supplies as required to secure the decoder
• Running gear lubrication
• Locomotive reassembly
• Front and Rear Headlight wired to decoder ***
• Decoder tested and programmed to requested address
• Basic programming provided at no extra charge - Advanced programming available for an additional fee ****
• Frame modifications as required for proper decoder fit *****

NOTES:

Please provide details and/or request a quote in advance if you think you might need one of the following options.

* - Engines will be tested and inspected upon receipt. I do not recommend installation of a decoder in a dirty or defective mechanism as it will not improve the performance of the unit. Additionally, it will make the installation more difficult. I will provide a summary of defects found and an estimate of time and materials required for repair. I will not persue the installation on a dirty or defective engine without prior written authorization from the buyer. Locomotive maintenance and repair services are available for an additional fee.

** - In many instances it is necessary to permanently modify the engine in order to prepare it for use with DCC. All effort will be made to minimize the size and scope of these modifications.

*** - LED Units only. Incandescent and LED installation options are available for an additional fee. Additional Function Installation options are available for an additional fee.

**** - Additional programming of decoder features are available for an additional fee.

***** - Custom machining of your frame may be required for some installations. An additional fee may be charged if the scope work requires significant modification.

I specialize in N and HO Scale decoder installations. I will gladly quote installations in any scale.

• 30+ years of model railroad experience in N and HO scales
• Prior experience with rolling stock contract repair and maintenance services
• 15+ years manufacturing experience including engineering and technical services
